RATING/WARNING(S): G
WIP?/WORD COUNT: Complete | 11,000
MAIN CHARACTERS: Spock, James T. Kirk, Christine Chapel, Leonard McCoy

FIC SUMMARY: "A joyless smile, a shuttered look, a turn of shoulders. Is this how friendship ends?" Set after "The City on the Edge of Forever". Spock fears the worst.

RECCER'S NOTES: Second-person narrative is a rare choice for fanfic and, for that matter, also for profic, but oh how this story makes it work. It does a great job of portraying the careful balance of reason and feeling in Spock's mind, and the disconnect between "what you think" and "what you end up saying" was painfully familiar. Also: Christine Chapel is awesome.

(There is a leeetle bit of non-gen-ness in the interaction between Spock and Chapel, but it holds close to what we see in canon.)

RATING/WARNING(S): PG | Levi's potty mouth, small spoiler for the given name of a certain character
WIP?/WORD COUNT: Complete | 1,800
MAIN CHARACTERS: Levi, Jean, Mikasa, Connie, Sasha, Krista, Armin

FIC SUMMARY: What should have been a simple training mission goes absolutely to shit, and Levi's gotta do something because the kids expect him to pull a miracle out of his ass.

RECCER'S NOTES: Ketita has a gift for making the crackiest crack seem plausible. A lighthearted, very funny oneshot - because what could be more lighthearted than seven kids stuck in a tree about to be eaten alive by titans - narrated by a very put-upon Captain Levi.

RATING/WARNING(S): PG | violence
WIP?/WORD COUNT: Complete | 2,000
MAIN CHARACTERS: Greg House, James Wilson

FIC SUMMARY: After an act of senseless violence, House copes the only way he knows how.

RECCER'S NOTES: An eye for detail that brings every scene alive. The mood swings back and forth, dark and silly in turns without ever being jarring. Wilson suffers, as he must in fanfic. House is... House, an arsehole like no other ever could ever be, and it's fantastic.

(Be sure to look into the authors' other works when you're finished. The writing is top-notch, and the story always captivating. They run a fine line in House historical AUs and genre-benders, too.)

AUTHOR LINK: lolrassilon
RATING/WARNING(S): PG
WIP?/WORD COUNT: Complete | 6300 words
MAIN CHARACTERS: Eleventh Doctor, OC

FIC SUMMARY: Left to his own devices, the Doctor tracks a pair of lost and enormous spiders to a flat in London. There he meets the flat's disagreeable occupant, who makes the job of rescuing both spiders and taking them safely home considerably more difficult.

RECCER'S NOTES: "Harry? Good name, good name. Shame about your personality - I used to know another Harry once, he was much better. Bit of an imbecile sometimes, but definitely much better."

There are two kinds of people in the world. First, the bright, curious, adventurous people who seemingly populate the Whoniverse, and then... then there are the Harrys. Featuring a man who is definitely not a pest-control officer, a wonderfully unlikeable OC, and spiders. The voices - both Eleven's and that of the aforementioned Harry - are excellent, and the whole thing is funny throughout.
