FIC SUMMARY: A young Hermione Granger discovers something terrible has taken up residence in her home.
RECCER'S NOTES: This is a wonderful little ficlet, the sort of story that proves that fic can be less than 1000 words and still be amazing. I absolutely love how the author has written young Hermione -- brave and clever and clear-thinking, while still being a frightened little girl who has recently learnt that monsters are real. I also really really loved that the author used a folkloric dark creature that isn't mentioned at all in canon (as far as I remember, anyway). Beautiful work <3
