father ted: it's all the rage on the mainland, by suitablyskippy
FANDOM: Father Ted
FIC LINK: It's All The Rage On The Mainland
AUTHOR LINK:
suitablyskippy
RATING/WARNING(S): G/None
WIP?/WORD COUNT: Complete | 6000
MAIN CHARACTERS: Father Ted, Father Dougal, Father Jack, Mrs Doyle
FIC SUMMARY: “Here for the auditions, are you, Fathers?”
Ted set his chin high; he folded his arms sternly at his chest, and stood firm in the doorway. His coat did not billow open around him in a sudden lick of wind, though he would have liked it very much if it had, and he felt it would have been rather appropriate besides. “We are,” he declared. “Oh, we are, all right.”
(Smash-hit reality show 'Ireland's Got Certain Abilities' was on its way to Craggy Island, and Ted felt more than ready for the spotlight.)
RECCER'S NOTES:
In honour of Frank Kelly's recent passing, a Father Ted rec! This is wonderful. It absolutely nails the voices and the tone of the show and is hilariously funny, which is often hard to get right in the written word. This could just so easily be an episode of the show - it's weird and wonderful and leaves me with a huge smile.
