FANDOM: Malevolent podcast
FIC LINK: But Gentle Pulls the Strings
AUTHOR LINK: jaclynhyde
RATING/WARNING(S): Teen, referenced child death, bodysharing (canon)
WIP?/WORD COUNT: Complete, 11771
MAIN CHARACTERS: Arthur Lester, John Doe/the Entity
FIC SUMMARY:
John and Arthur have settled into a routine after escaping the Dreamlands. But when a suspicious theatrical troupe comes to town, the two must confront whether they've truly escaped the King in Yellow.
RECCER'S NOTES:
Malevolent is an eldritch horror podcast about a man who is possessed by an entity that has taken his eyes. The entity, who names itself John, has to guide him as they try to survive horrors together and figure out what's happened to them. This fic, set after arc two and since jossed, might be my favorite from the fandom. I love the use of Shakespeare and how well it fits the themes and their enemy, and it's such a perfect representation of their relationship, intense and intimate from the nature of their binding as well as all they've been through together. The fic is marked m/m but honestly whether you give them a romantic interpretation or not has pretty much no bearing.
