Doctor Who/Blackadder: Just Impediment by Doyle
Hi, I'm
thisbluespirit, gensploder of the month for May, very new to this (hoping it's all done right). I'm mostly a Doctor Who fan but also love a whole lot of other fandoms, especially random tiny ones - hopefully I'll manage a fair mix across the month. Here goes...
FANDOM: Doctor Who/Blackadder
FIC LINK: Just Impediment
AUTHOR LINK:
Doyle
RATING/WARNING(S): G
WIP?/WORD COUNT: 4734
MAIN CHARACTERS: Edmund Blackadder, Baldrick, Tenth Doctor, Queenie, Other Characters.
FIC SUMMARY: Queen Elizabeth I is marrying a Mr William Shakespeare (no relation) and there's a mysterious blue box in the alley outside Mrs Miggins' pie shop; Edmund Blackadder is on the case.
RECCER'S NOTES: I thought I’d start off with what remains one of the very best and funniest Doctor Who crossovers (no mean feat in a go-anywhere fandom built for such things). It’s brilliant, like a long-lost episode of Blackadder II that’s been held out of the archives because it happens to feature the Doctor. It's extremely funny, has spot-on characterisation for both fandoms, ties up loose bits of canon (if a little jossed these days), and makes absolutely perfect use of Baldrick. Basically, it’s pretty damn glorious.
