Hi, I'm thisbluespirit, gensploder of the month for May, very new to this (hoping it's all done right). I'm mostly a Doctor Who fan but also love a whole lot of other fandoms, especially random tiny ones - hopefully I'll manage a fair mix across the month. Here goes...

FIC SUMMARY: Queen Elizabeth I is marrying a Mr William Shakespeare (no relation) and there's a mysterious blue box in the alley outside Mrs Miggins' pie shop; Edmund Blackadder is on the case.

RECCER'S NOTES: I thought I’d start off with what remains one of the very best and funniest Doctor Who crossovers (no mean feat in a go-anywhere fandom built for such things). It’s brilliant, like a long-lost episode of Blackadder II that’s been held out of the archives because it happens to feature the Doctor. It's extremely funny, has spot-on characterisation for both fandoms, ties up loose bits of canon (if a little jossed these days), and makes absolutely perfect use of Baldrick. Basically, it’s pretty damn glorious.

Oh, Doyle is always good value but I'd missed this one. The Blackadder voices are perfect. Thanks for recommending!
