RECCER'S NOTES:

This fic takes place immediately after/during Nine's regeneration. The Dashwood sisters happen upon him, a broken man after the Time War, and it's just - wow.

The characterisation is flawless and I'm definitely adopting this as my head canon. I would say you'll still be able to heartily enjoy this even if you're not familiar with both canons.

The Doctor sat at the pianoforte's keyboard, bashing out the tune with undisguised glee. Sir John clapped in time, a broad grin upon his face, as Mrs. Jennings and Margaret danced as best they could with only one another for partners. Even Mrs. Dashwood nodded her head and smiled broadly, and when the Doctor finished with a flourish, all applauded.

"What a jaunty tune!" exclaimed Mrs. Jennings. "I swear, I never heard its like. So thrilling! Quite the thing for dancing. Tell us, what is it called?"

"Blue Suede Shoes." The Doctor closed the pianoforte lid with apparent regret. "Hasn't quite caught on in London yet, but give it time."

FIC SUMMARY: The Tenth Doctor has known many Companions over the years, and thinks he's ready for almost anything. And then, God help him, he picks up Scarlett O'Hara.

RECCER'S NOTES:

Another amazing fic, entirely unrelated to the previous rec, so that you may read either one without needing to read the other.
Again, all the voices are utterly brilliant, as is the language and tone of the fic, which fits Scarlett's world perfectly, despite the Doctor dropping himself in it (and pulling Scarlett into his own).

Oh hooray! Thank you so much for letting me know you're liking the recs I'm posting, because I've been getting a little paranoid that I might be posting too many ;p WHERE ARE ALL THE RECS, GENSPLODERS?

I reallllly loved both of these fics though. I actually read the Gone With the Wind one first and loved it, but the Sense and Sensibility one blew me away. I would recommend the author completely; there are some shippy fics there that are brilliant as well - and a Veronica Mars rec I will rec here at some point I'm sure.

No, no, your recs are perfect! I don't really have time myself, and also I tend to read a lot of het. (I mostly write gen though, go figure...)

Turns out I'd read the Gone With the Wind one before as well. :~D I like it well enough, but the other one is my absolute favourite. I should really go look at her other stuff as well.
