RECCER'S NOTES:

Hockey RPF fandom is pairing dominated. This is a few of the gen stories, and it's lovely, despite the heavy subject matter. There are a few stories which take the realities of pro sports into account. It can be a dangerous job, in more ways than one, and I love how the story deals with it.
But the story shows us also Patrick and Jonny's frienship. I love their interaction and how they talk and not-talk with each other.

Even if you're not into sports fandom you might want to give this story a chance.

RECCER'S NOTES: Where to begin? In the audios & comics sometimes the Doctor travels with a Whifferdil called Frobisher – a shapeshifting private eye who tends to default to Penguin. Sir David Attenborough makes nature documentaries on many things, including penguins. Kate Stewart has weird in her job description. You might begin to see where this is going, yes? It’s a hugely fun ficlet, with a great punchline, and I don’t think you need to know any more than those three things to enjoy it. Also, penguins.
