The worlds they pass through are sometimes harmless, often horrifying, and always weird. Hopping across worlds like stepping stones on the way to Hel, and there is, as always in these stories, a catch...

RECCER'S NOTES: This is a wonderful look at two brothers and their relationship to each other, and to their parents. Love the realistic feel of their dynamic, and the plot was very engrossing.

This is heartbreakingly beautiful. It's a short read but it packs a real punch, as Molly counts through her children and the weight of the war upon them all. I love the way each of the Weasley children are described. ♥

He wonders if she's normally wearing a glamour or if he's simply been oblivious, barely sparing her a glance between all of his secret missions -- the thought troubles him.

RECCER'S NOTES:

This is an intriguing look at both Regulus and his mother. I love how even though it's a rather short story these characters are fleshed out and real. Awesome.

RECCER'S NOTES:

This is a wonderful and chilling character study of Greg Goyle's mother. Since we don't really know much about her beside the fact that she must exist, she is mostly an original character. This doesn't matter though, for in this story we get to know her very well. She is sympathetic without being entirely likeable. I feel for her though.

It is a dark story, with dark themes, and it quite chilled me.

RECCER'S NOTES: I fell down the Burn Notice rabbit hole last week. Fanworks are thin on the ground, but tonight I was craving Madeline & Fiona and came across this little gem. Madeline is probably my favorite thing about Burn Notice (aside from Jeffrey Donovan's forearms, but this is a gen community, so we won't go there). Women over a certain age don't show up much on television, certainly not in the form of opinionated, complex characters. This is a short story, more character study than anything else. It highlights her relationship with Fiona, and touches on the contradictions and regrets that Madeline has to live with. If you're familiar with the source, it's worth taking a minute to read this one.

RECCER'S NOTES: Alice's POV is done so beautifully. Her extremely limited awareness of the world around her comes across so well, and yet she's still very human and very relatable. It's lovely and hopeful, while still getting at the ongoing horror and tragedy of what happened to the Longbottom family.
